H.M.S. Pinafore By Sir Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert March 10th & 17th @ 7:30PM March 11th & 18th @ 2:00 PM This rollicking romp concerns an able seaman, Ralph Rackstraw, aboard the Pinafore who is hopelessly in love with Josephine, Captain Corcoran’s beautiful daughter. The Captain hopes to marry Josephine to Sir Joseph Porter, K.C.B., the First Lord of the Admiralty. Ralph proposes marriage, Josephine accepts but the couple is betrayed by Dick Deadeye and caught by the Captain and Sir Joseph. Ralph is consigned to the brig. In the nick of time Little Buttercup, who has long loved the Captain, reveals a secret that turns the outcome “topsy-turvy”. |
