Presenting our 2019 Directors
Artistic Director: Renée Haines
Renée Haines of Southington is the artistic director for our 2019 production, Gilbert & Sullivan’s “Patience". Haines is a SLOCO veteran who has played principal roles in nearly all the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas. In 2016 she played Aline in SLOCO’s “The Sorcerer.” She is also a former president of the Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society.
“Patience” will mark Haines’s first time in the director’s chair, but, to her, returning to SLOCO “feels like coming home again.” Haines is an honors graduate of the Hartt School of Music with a Bachelors of Music degree in Opera Performance. |
Musical Director: Nathaniel Baker
Music Director Nathaniel Baker has recently served as Music Director for West Hartford Community Theater and Connecticut Theatre Company, among other groups. He is the Chorus Master for Connecticut Lyric Opera, and a past Music Director of the Choral Club of Hartford.
